Volleyball is a fun court-based team sport where two teams of six players ‘rally’ a ball to each other over a net with their hands and arms attempting to ground the ball on their opponent’s side of the court. Although when it was originally devised it was intended to be played indoors, variations of volleyball can be played on grass, on the beach and even in the water. Whether it is played competitively or for fun, volleyball is an enjoyable sport which provides a comprehensive cardio workout along with terrific development of upper body strength and hand-eye co-ordination. It is fun to play simply with friends or as part of a club, and thanks to the variety of surfaces it can be played on it can be enjoyed all year round.
